Ahpra work continues remotely as in-person services temporarily suspended

31 Mar 2020

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) staff are working remotely to serve health practitioners and the public across Australia while in-person services are temporarily suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ahpra is an essential service and remains open for business by phone on 1300 419 495 or online while state and territory offices are closed to public access. We have made important changes so practitioners don’t need to visit our offices, including the introduction of an online upload service for registrants and changes to practitioner presenting in person requirements.

Ahpra staff across Australia are working remotely to maintain our important services, in nearly all cases from home. Remote working was already available to Ahpra staff if required, so we were quickly able to extend system capability across the organisation.

Our Adelaide and Brisbane offices were closed to public access at 5pm local time on 31 March following the suspension of in-person services in other capital cities last week.

We need to adhere to the government’s social distancing direction and protect our staff and the public. We’re doing our bit to flatten the curve to support the health system and enable people to get the care they need.

We will continue to publish updates for practitioners on the COVID-19 updates page of our website.
